With an interesting mix of passion & industry knowledge in Sport and academic background in Sociology, Vien always advocates and opens up the perspective of understanding sport in sociological/cultural/media-and-creative-industries-related way and vice versa.
Vien has obtained the degree Master of Social Sciences in Media, Culture and Creative Cities with the mark of distinction at the University of Hong Kong in 2016. At the same university, Vien graduated as a Bachelor of Arts with core study in Spanish, Journalism and Sociology. In 2018, she has also completed the iconic course 'Planning the Cycling City' of the University of Amsterdam. Then her learning journey goes on with further studies in topics including Sport Sponsorship and Marketing, Sustainability etc.

Along her work in the sports and media industry, Vien is also a Lecturer of tertiary education. Recently she has launched the first-ever 'Special topics in journalism I: The Business of Sports Journalism' course with the Journalism and Media Studies Centre of the University of Hong Kong, which is the essence of Vien's years of experience and observation, and the aspiration to introduce more sports discussion in the academia.
Vien also teaches the module 'Media Management Sport' at HKU Space, and has taught the course 'Buying or Dying? Media, Consumption and the Making of Self' at HKBU CIE.
Besides, Vien is grateful for being constantly invited to teach or be Speaker to share about sports industry, sports career and sports media, public relations & communication, organisations and parties she has worked with include English Schools Foundation (ESF), Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power, HKU, InspiringHK Sports Foundation, Lingnan University, Women in Sports Empowered Hong Kong (WISE) etc.
